Presentation of the more sustainable Scharlau dehydrated culture media

We would like to inform you about an important update related to our culture medium flasks. From now on, we will eliminate the external bags that accompany our products.

Since March 2020, when the new flask format was introduced, there has been evidence of an improvement in maintaining the culture media in perfect condition. This evident improvement has led us to make the decision to eliminate the external bag that was part of our characteristic packaging called PAC-O-VAC.

The elimination of the plastic bag responds to our commitment to sustainability and reducing environmental impact.

Reasons for this decision:

  1. Reduction of plastic materials: By removing the external bags, we reduce the amount of plastic used in the production of each flask, which contributes to lower resource consumption.
  2. Ease of recycling: Without the bags, the flasks will be easier to recycle, facilitating their processing at the end of their lifecycle.
  3. Minimization of waste: This simplification in design reduces the generation of unnecessary waste during manufacturing and usage, helping to avoid the proliferation of waste that is difficult to degrade.
  4. Environmental commitment: This measure is part of our broader commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

This measure will already be effective in the next manufactured batches, with both presentations coexisting for a time.

We appreciate your understanding and support in this initiative.
