HOMOGENISERS

Bag homogenisers are used to homogenise and mix liquid or solid samples contained in bags. The bags are designed to hold the sample and resist the pressures and friction generated during the mixing process which homogenises the sample through the application of mechanical forces. Bag homogenisers isolate all the bacterial flora in the bag and on the surface of the solid sample, the mixture being representative of the overall contamination of the sample. Ultrasonic homogenisers use high-energy ultrasonic vibrations to break up the structure of samples and produce a homogeneous mixture. They are mainly used to homogenise, de-agglomerate, emulsify, form suspensions and accelerate chemical reactions, as well as to disrupt cells, bacteria, fungi or spores.
