Replacement parts
Minireactor maintenance requires just two replacement parts, namely two different O-rings.
- O-ring between the main vessel and the lid: 500-0MRJ25 (2.5” O-ring), 500-00MRJ3 (3” O-ring) and 500-00MRJ4 (4” O-ring).
- Stirrer shaft O-ring seal: OR6X178SIL (6.07 x 1.78 O-ring).
Installation and customisation
The minireactors are delivered fully assembled and ready for use. If any parts need adjusting, assembling or disassembling, there is a user’s manual video available on our website that provides detailed instructions.
There is also an option to customise the lid configuration to suit your specific needs.
Applications and flexibility
Scharlau minireactors are primarily designed for liquid-phase synthesis. However, with a few modifications, we can offer solutions for:
- API or solid-phase synthesis (e.g., peptide synthesis).
- Catalyst testing.
- Working at very low temperatures with a thermostated reactor and vacuum jacket.
- Working at moderate overpressures (up to 5 bar).
- Use as a fermenter.
- Customised photochemical reactors.
If the stirrer speed range needs to be adjusted for operation at less than 100 rpm, we can also provide a mechanical stirrer in that specific range.
Main features
These are just some of the notable advantages of our Scharlau minireactors:
- Mechanical stirring with simple alignment.
- Simple height adjustment of the stirring rod.
- Telescopic stand.
- Clamp with quick opening and closing, no tools required.
- Silicone/FEP O-rings with a PTFE self-centring ring.
- Inert materials, including Hastelloy® stirring rod.
- Reaction vessels available from 50 mL to 2000 mL.
- Aluminium heating block for fast, homogeneous heating (model HME-R).
- Reduced base dimensions.
Scharlau minireactors are the ideal solution for laboratories looking for accuracy, versatility and durability. Both models can be adapted to your needs, and we offer custom-made solutions for your research and chemical synthesis.
