PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
Personal protective equipment (PPE) are devices, clothing or equipment used by workers to protect themselves against health and safety hazards in the workplace. The equipment is designed to provide a physical barrier between the worker and any hazards, minimising the risk of occupational injuries or illnesses. They include a wide range of elements, such as gloves, respiratory masks, safety goggles, ear defenders, safety footwear and protective clothing, among others. The choice of PPE should achieve comfortable and appropriate protection for the worker, while its correct fit and use is an important factor in effective protection.
