SPECTROPHOTOMETERS

Spectrophotometers are used in laboratories to measure the amount of light absorbed or transmitted by a sample in function of the wavelength transmitted. They can analyse the absorption or transmittance of light in the visible and ultraviolet ranges, providing information on the chemical and physical properties of the test sample. Spectrophotometers are widely used in various scientific disciplines, including chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology and pharmaceutical research, to perform quantitative and qualitative analyses, determine sample concentrations, observe the time and temperature dependent progression of a reaction (kinetics), characterise compounds, and to detect chemicals in samples and determine their purity. They are used in several sectors ranging from food and beverages, to agriculture and livestock, cosmetics, clinics, life sciences, biotechnology, environment and fabrics. See More
