GRAVIMETRIC DILUTORS

Gravimetric dilutors are used specifically in microbiology laboratories to quickly and accurately dilute a sample in a liquid medium. Using the built-in balance, the system weighs the sample and adds the right volume of liquid to achieve the desired dilution. The liquid may be contained in a glass bottle or flexible bag and is propelled through a tube by a dispensing pump until it falls into the dilution bag. The bags are strong, purpose-built and available with internal filters depending on whether the sample is completely liquid, filamentous or solid. Gravimetric dilutors are used for safe, accurate compliance with microbiological control regulations. They can also be used for straightforward, automatic dispensing of liquids.
