BURETTES

Burettes are used to titrate liquids, above all in analytical chemistry laboratories. The accurate graduation provides information on the volume in the burette before and after dispensing. Manual burettes have a stopcock to release the titrand in a dropwise manner and the volume must be read by the naked eye. Digital burettes that titrate automatically and report the real-time volume on an electronic display as the liquid is dispensed are recommended for more precise titrations.
