Stainless steel capillary tubing
The capillary tubing that is detailed below is made of SS316 stainless steel, DIN 1.4401. Its tolerance is ±0.05mm. The maximum pressure is 315bar (4600psi) for both 1/16' and 1/8'.
For UHPLC stainless steel tubing is recommended due to high pressures caused by the small particle size of the columns. Pre-cut tubing is preferred in cases where it is necessary to minimize dead volume as is the case in UHPLC. The pressure can vary depending on the diameter, the lowest pressure is 365bar (5300psi). The Pre-cut tubing also has the advantage of being ready for use, the end is ready for quick connection with ferrules and each dimension is identified with a colour.
