Nylon (NY) filtration membranes
Magna Nylon membrane filters are the standard filter material for filtering eluents due to their wide chemical compatibility range and hydrophilic characteristics. Nylon filters can be used to filter all aqueous and the majority of organic solvent solutions used in HPLC. Magna Nylon filters are manufactured by GVS using a unique impregnation process that confers great resistence to its membranes. They can withstand temperatures up to 180°C (356°F) with no affects. The pH range is from 3 to 12. The result is a nylon filter with uniform pore size and consistent flow rates. Wetting agents are not used during manufacturing, resulting in a very low level of extractables. The most appropriate for filtering the mobile phase are those with a diameter of 47mm and 0,45µm pore size.
